Serge Roche (1888-1998) was a fabulous mid-century furniture designer, decorator and art collector whose glamorous Hollywood Regency designs inspire many designers today (hey, noting is new in the furniture world, just revised). Roche produced furniture and objects d'art that have a very rococo feel to them. He used stucco and mirrors to create over-the-top consoles, mirrors, fireplaces, decorative objects that are highly sought after today by collectors. Roche was an artist with an eclectic personality and became famous not because of his unique furniture and mirrored objects, but because of his capabilities as an art dealer.
