Salon Interior Design

To find a best hair salon in malaysia at your area, first of all you need to understand whether the salon is a professional standard salon in term of salon interior design and environment. The hair care product in use must be professional standards such as Indola Professional, Shishedo Professional or GoldWell Professional.

Also, you must make sure that the hair stylists who serve to you is a dynamic and in trend stylist and has been in this dressing industries for more over then 5 years of experience, this is because most of the junior hair stylist with rich family financial background will setup their own barber shop after they are graduated from hair academy and all this hair stylist would not give you a good hair result after your visit.

New Things at Windows by Melissa

roman shade made by Windows by Melissa for Jane's nursery

If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know how much I love Windows by Melissa. I've used her for my own home many times as well as for clients and she always does a great job. She's great at curtains, pillows and roman shades. The team at Windows by Melissa recently updated their website to make it more user friendly. They have created a login feature so that you can track your order status as well as receive quotes for window treatments that will be kept in your personal account for future use.

They have also added many new products including the horizontal striped curtains.

They have a "Melissa's Recommendations" page where people can browse fabric shops with options other than what they carry.

You can also easily add the greek key trim to any window treatments. After selecting a window treatment type and size you are then taken to an options/upgrades page and you can select to have the greek key ribbon design added to your window treatment!

And, finally, they have added the clearance/and ready to ship section. This section is items that are immediately available for purchase and are not custom work. They are either samples and prototypes of designs and  items that they have created and tested before making them available for custom request orders or they are returned items from customs that didn't work out. There are some great deals in this section so check it out

My New Love for Black Walls

If you follow me on instagram (@kirstenkrason) you might have seen that I have painted my office black! My office is the last room in my house left to decorate (but let's be honest I'm sure I'll be re-decorating everything at some point) and for some reason it's made me want to try a totally different approach to the way I decorate my home. Everything in my house is fairly light and bright and I love it.  My old office was extremely feminine and that really fits my personality but for some reason I have been infatuated with black walls recently. I can't explain it. I have always loved contrast and drama in rooms but usually I create that effect with pattern and color. It was a hard decision and up until I put that first paint-stroke on the wall I was doubting myself. The good news is that I love it! And for those of you who are wondering I used the same paint color that Bryn used.

These are the rooms I have been using for motivation and inspiration.

I would say this bathroom palette is exactly the vibe I am going for in my office. I love the shot of color and the sharp contrast of the white against the black.

And for those of you who might think I have gone completely insane don't worry, there will still be lots of color. Here's a little fabric preview...

Hopefully more progress pictures are to come!

What about you?  Would you ever paint a room black?

Luxury Real Estate

Luxury Real Estate

If you are ready to upgrade to a beautiful luxury home in Silicon Valley, there are many points you will want to consider when pinpointing the perfect house for you and your family to call home. While the style of the house and its specific amenities are important, most of the points you should consider surround the location of the luxury real estate. No matter whether your focus is to settle down for a long time or find a property that is sure to hold its value so you can sell eventually, location is the prime deciding factor for what luxury home you will buy.

The first thing you picture when you are told that location is important is the surroundings of the luxury real estate itself. This is essential because if your property is backed up against Highway 85, the noise from the traffic will destroy any time you have outside. Also, acreage is important not only in your personal enjoyment but in the value of the luxury real estate. To be considered an estate, generally an acre parcel of land is the minimum amount required to be considered an estate rather than a nice home with some land.

The second factor of a luxury real estate's location is the economy. By choosing Silicon Valley as your location for finding prime luxury real estate, you will appreciate one of the best economies in the country. The housing market hit rock bottom in the first months of 2009, but since then it has been making a stronger comeback than other areas of the United States and even of California. The job market is strong and the time that homes are spending on the market has been decreasing over the past year. This is an excellent sign for the future of luxury homes in Silicon Valley.

Another aspect to consider is the recreational opportunities, schools and other services in the neighborhood in which you choose to settle down. Many locations in Silicon Valley have nature trails, golfing, tennis courts and more, especially estates that are located within gated communities. Not only are there many recreational opportunities, the neighborhoods here are clean and well-maintained as well. Schools are important to consider if you have children. Are they nearby? Is the school overcrowded? All these things should be taken into account in addition to the amenities and design of the luxury real estate you are thinking of buying.

Custom Luxury Homes

When having a piece of land in Los Angeles and you are wanting to build, there are several options for the builder. For example, you can build it yourself, or one of the more popular options is to go with a designer who builds custom luxury homes. Why do this instead of going with your own design? Well there are many reasons, and this article will give the numerous reasons why.

For starters, working with builders of custom luxury homes mean that you get to work with more than just a builder or architect. You get to work with a designer as well to make sure you get what you want. For example, if you decide you want a Spanish influence on your new home, the company will find a designer who has experience or has even been to Spain to make sure you have an authentic feeling to the house.

Secondly, if you use a custom luxury home designer you may pay more than if you were to just work with a contractor or builder. However, if you ever plan to sell your house, you will make more profit. Those that move to the LA area are looking for luxury homes to buy. Working with a luxury home specialist guarantees that your home will be among the few that can claim luxury.

Third of all, even if you have an idea of how you want the house to look once you finish it, those designers that work with a custom luxury home company will be able to offer ideas that you may have never thought of. In return, your home could turn out better than you could have ever imagined.

When working with a team of those who design custom luxury homes they should be able to provide you with an estimated budget of the entire project. If not, then look elsewhere. Any reputable company should also have numerous examples of projects that they can show you as a reference. In fact, they should also have numerous customer reviews of their projects and the name or number of the person so you can get in contact them.

Feature Friday: Our Lake Life

Today I am featuring the home of Maria from the blog Our Lake Life. Maria and her family live on a lake in New Jersey. She is slowly fixing up her home and living the dream! Here is what she loves most about her home:

"What we love most about our home are the views! There's something so calming about living by water. In the summer you can find us outdoors most of the time, enjoying the breeze on the dock or taking a sunset boat ride along the shores of the lake. We've totally transformed the yard since first moving in. We now have distinct outdoor rooms that allow us to enjoy both the sunny and shady spots throughout the yard. The house will probably always be a work in progress. My husband and I are always dreaming and creating but we're starting to settle into a style after three years of trial and error. Our goal is to bring some of those watery hues that we see in so much of the landscape inside as well. We have big plans for this home for the future but ultimately we want our home to feel casual, a touch eclectic and a complete retreat from the outside world."

Enjoy!
