Kitchens are such a bear to redo...Both in the sense of convenience and cost. Anyone can make a kitchen look good if you throw enough cash at it...but the real trick is redoing quickly and on a budget (especially if you go the inset door route). In this kitchen we accomplished both. We left the backsplash (I would have used marble subway tile) reused the granite (would have used carrara marble) and repurposed the cabinets -- how about that for environmentally friendly! New fridge and convection microwave added, new walnut island countertop and inset doors really turned this room around. And, we did it on a budget of 17k (in NY, that is a deal) and in 6 weeks.
BEFORE: outdated maple kitchen
AFTER: Crisp white brightens a dark room
Light fixtures and the right seating are like jewelry to a room. Love these simple lanterns |
