Inspring Red Rooms

Besty Burnham home office -- Fabulous red De Gournay wallpaper
In my book I think it takes a lot of bravado to bring off a red room successfully (so far I have only gone with red accessories, but now I have been called in to help with a red room and need some inspiration pronto!).  I especially love red paired with its suped up or toned down compliment, green (chartreuse or olive) . That said, bring on the inspiration for Red Walls....

Red with punches of black and white look great and I love the contrast with the white sofas and mustard trim.

Okay, not red walls, but pinkish red rug with the green walls.  Just love the Paris maps and the red and green together

Love the brick red lacquered walls paired with the neutral sofa and brown chairs. The blend of patterns ( ikat, greek key, cheetah and florals) in this room designed by Ashley Whittaker really work and it looks rather understated and classic given everything is that is going on.

While the walls aren't red, the doors and fireplace really make a statement. Meg Braff
