Front Door Color Inspiration

Miles Redd's front door
I have been thinking about giving my tired white front door  a colorful lift, so I thought I would share some colorful and inspiring front doors with you all.  My house is light grey, and I can't get Miles Redd's aqua front door (above) out of my mind....so first up are aqua and teal doors:

I am also grooving on green doors, and some say green is the new red:

Love this Kelly Green Door

Kelly green with the brick looks awesome -- they are complimentary colors

This olive door is great looking with the earthy gold bricks.

Almost a lime green.

Orange Front Doors for a real pop of color:

Yellow front doors -- so cheery:

Yellow is such a happy and welcoming color

Monogram Obsession: Leontine Linens

I have been obsessed with monograms for years  -- and monogram bedding is all the rage with every other catalogue store getting into the mix.  Despite the ubiquitous presence of the monogramed pillows on a bed, I  think this the classic look that will never truly go out of style (I have monogrammed pillow covers that I have had for 15 years).  Recently I attended a trunk show featuring Leontine Linens and I have to report that their products feel as good as good as they look -- gorgeous and beautifully made.  I think the monogrammed pillows are great, but I am not a huge fan of  large monograms on duvet covers and bedspreads.

Leontine has both embroidered and appliqué monograms and trim, here is some of their lovely work:

Here is the very popular appliqué lettering:

What do you think?  Too trendy or one for the classics?

The Day Has Finally Come!

If all goes as planned I'll be having my baby girl tomorrow! Since Josh is a pilot and he has a crazy schedule I've elected to have an induction and as long as the hospital doesn't fill up the plan is to go in tomorrow morning.

This is me a week and half ago. I am so ready to be done!

It's so funny when I look back on that awful first trimester and I literally thought the day would never come that I would be done being pregnant. But here I am! I'm really anxious and excited at the same time. I've been spending the last few days getting ready. My diaper bag is all packed and ready to take to the hospital. The nursery is just about done...

I'm having the amazing Jessica Kettle photograph a birth story for me which I am ecstatic about. She does such a beautiful job and I can't wait to share the pictures with you.

As for my blog...

I have lots of great guest posters ready for you and I'll be keeping up with Feature Fridays don't you worry. I'll also be posting here and there as I feel up to it. Jett's room was photographed last week so stay tuned for that reveal.

Wish me luck!

Upholstered Arms and Legs

I really like the look of upholstered "frame" arms and legs on chairs and sofas -- something you don't see enough of these days.  Popular in mid-century furniture I think we area going to see a comeback of this trend.  I love this chair by Windsor Smith -- amazing.  Love  the simple lines.

Dennis Chair by Windsor Smith Furniture Collection
It is reminiscent of an upholstered Milo Baughman chair like this:

Fab chairs.  Glad Windsor Smith didn't use the plaid, though.

Jayson Home - Penelope Chair. Love the Arms on this chair (sorry, but am not so crazy for the scalloped back)
Hickory Chair. Darcy Sofa.  Nice lines.  This would look great in a linen, don't you think?

You can see the idea with this  X-stool ottoman from Arteriors -- the upholstered frame is  just so good looking.
