I'm excited to announce my newest contributors, Sarah and Emily, from the blog Boxwood Clippings. They have great taste and are always coming up with simple and chic DIY projects. I love their latest cupcake stand tutorial and I think you will to!

We are always trying to make our house-keeping budgets stretch far, and today we’d like to share our latest project. On a recent trip to Anthro, we spied this cupcake stand…absolutely gorgeous, right?! We fell in love, but not with the price tag, so we thought we’d try our own version. We were thrilled with our results and saved our pennies too!
Here is what you’ll need if you’d like to make your own:
Candlestick: Your candlestick needs to be a sturdy one, and the prettier the better. Ikea always has fantastic ones, alternatively the craft store will always a variety in stock. We got this one a while ago at Ikea on clearance for $2.
Dome: These are very frequently found at the thrift store. This one cost $1.
Plate: We brought our dome to the thrift store and matched up a plate for the perfect size.
Hot glue: We simply applied hot glue to the top of the candlestick, and pressed the middle of the plate to the candlestick. We turned the whole thing upside down to dry.
This project couldn’t have been simpler, and only cost $4. We know you’ll love your results too!
