First Look at 2012 Hampton Showhouse

Yesterday I spent my early afternoon at the 2012 Hampton Showhouse previewing the rooms and chatting it up with a few of the designers.  The Showhouse is spectacular and worth a visit.  One thing I noticed is that the economy has made us all practical in a good way -- the designers' rooms, inside and outside, were inspiring spaces for the real world.  They were filled with great inspiration and I urge everyone who can go to see the space in person as these photos do not capture the stylish creativity of these talented designers.  I am going to blog more specifically about the details of my favorite rooms in the upcoming week, but until then . . .  Here is a sneak peek of the Showhouse (click here for more info).

Some details:  The Showhouse had three floors of rooms, the main level, the second floor and the lower level. The photos below are mine, and I apologize to the designers as none of them capture the rooms as they should. I will list the rooms in order as you tour the house...

FIRST FLOOR

Foyer: The entry way was a two story monster of a space and The Lee W. Robinson Company of Louisville KY, did a fantastic job with the foyer and upstairs hallways...

The Dining Room by Mabley Handler Interior Design of Watermill, NY, was a departure from the usual serene spaces by the husband and wife design team -- but still gorgeous:

The Living Room, dubbed the "Riding Room" for its equestrian theme was designed by NYC designer Patrik Lönn:

Patrik Lönn.  As you can see, there were photographers in there the entire time making it difficult to get a good shot of this beautifully designed space.

The two story Great Room was designed by Lillan August Furniture Company's  designers Skye Kirby Wescott & Nancy Galasso;

The main floor Guest Room was styled as a sitting room by Jennifer McConnell of Pearson's Furniture who did a great job using Pearson's upholstered pieces and case goods:

Kate Singer of Huntington Bay, NY,  designed the serene Den in hues of blue:

The Kitchen, by Bakes and Company, was not complete when I visited  (the Showhouse is not due to open until Sunday), but I was able to snap these photos:

The Conservatory, the room directly off the kitchen, was designed by Old Town Crossing of Southampton. Sean Bruns, Judy Hadlock and Mary Carpenter were responsible for the space.

BACK YARD - EXTERIOR 

Jeff Lincoln Interiors, Inc. of New York, designed the Rear Porch and these photos do not do the space justice. I love the crisp blue stripes:

Tara Seawright, Inc./Interior Design of New York, designed the gorgeous and inviting Pool Area, which had not been completed due to some delivery issues.  I had the opportunity to chat with the lovely Ms. Seawright who advised me that Barlow Tyrie manufactured the fabulous outdoor furniture and that Mecox Gardens supplied the ceramic garden stools. The fabric was by Schumacher, a sponsor of the Showhouse and Vicki Cardaro of Buttercup Design Group designed several of the large planters. She also had the Pergola built for the space.

SECOND FLOOR

One of my favorite rooms was a bedroom by the amazing Katie Leede,  a Los Angles designer who has just moved to New York.  If you haven't heard of her, you will soon. I will be blogging more specifically on her space in the upcoming week...

Tamara Kaye-Honey of the House of Honey in California designed a deliciously chic Nursery:

LOWER LEVEL

Greg Mckenzie Design of East Hampton, NY designed another of my favorite spaces in the house, the Lower Level Lounge.  I have to get back to you with more photos and more details because this space was a joy to see with a great mix of pieces and terrific art.

Lee Najman Designs, designed the Game Room

Libby Langdon of  Libby Interiors Inc., based in NYC, designed the Fun Room.  This room had to get most improved; the enterprising Ms. Langdon transformed this unfinished basement space into a welcome "British styled" gathering room complete with bar and billiards table.  The upholstered pieces are from her new collection of furniture which can be found locally at English Country Antiques in Bridgehampton.
